Looks like it didn't take long for Urban to start cleaning house on offense. The current OC went to Texas and was replaced. Looks like we have a new QB coach as well.

Need a new line coach to get the O line moving. Too slow now and can't pass block worth a crap.

Urban's moving fast to correct things. Hope it works out for the Bucks. We shall see in September. ]]> Tue, 03 Jan 2017 12:07:50 +0000 http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=6401&PID=47607&title=well-that-was-disgusting#47607 College Sports : Well, that was disgusting http://www.middletownusa.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=6401&PID=47605&title=well-that-was-disgusting#47605 Author: What A City

Turned it off at halftime. Couldn't take the embarrassment any more. That was not Ohio football we saw Saturday evening. I have no idea why the team didn't show up to the game. They were stunned from the first play and never recovered. OSU embarrassed themselves, the state, the fans and were nothing but a whipping post for Clemson. OSU's Achilles Heel is Clemson. They can't beat them. Outmatched, not enough talent, boys against men type of game. OSU has been suspect for most of the season, playing well at times and like a last place loser at other times. Chalk it up to the youth of the team I guess. Street smart, chip on the shoulder, mean-tempered Clemson playing a team of pampered, spoiled suburban kids in a sense. OSU needs to get "meaner" and play with a vendetta.

For the first time in a very long time, I was ashamed to be an OSU fan. Meyer needs to look no further than this game to find out what he needs to compete with the big boys. Game plan, talent, size, strength, tenacity, diversity of play calling, removal of the current play sheet and the institution of a much more wide-open approach is needed to change it up to mimic Alabama and Clemson.

It should be another awesome National Championship game on the 9th. Too bad OSU is unable to compete at that level. RIght now, OSU is no where close to these two powers and if the mindset doesn't change, OSU will never rise to their level.

This performance was pitiful and disgusting. It looked like a pro team against a weak high school team.

COLUMBUS — Middletown High School graduate Jalin Marshall, a third-year sophomore hybrid back at Ohio State, was one of 44 players named to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award on Monday, along with teammate Dontre Wilson.

FORT WAYNE – The state of Ohio is known to most as a football hotbed, but they also play basketball east of the Indiana state line.

If you need proof, look no further than Vince Edwards, Purdue’s freshman forward who’s quickly garnered national attention.

It took just two games for Edwards to earn Big Ten honors (freshman of the week) after a hot start that included 26 points and eight rebounds to go along with three blocks and a steal against IUPUI on Sunday. Through two games, he’s averaging 19.5 points, 8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jalin Marshall was one of the best offensive prospects in the 2012 recruiting class, a former five-star quarterback who starred at Middletown, Ohio, before ending up at Ohio State.

Typical story. Top Ohio prospect goes to Ohio State to play for Urban Meyer. How many times have you heard that?

But Marshall's journey was different because he had chances to do elsewhere what wasn't available for him at Ohio State – to play quarterback in college. Tennessee gave Marshall that opportunity. He declined it.

"Being near my family was important to me, so Ohio State was a good spot for me," Marshall told cleveland.com after the Buckeyes' 56-17 win over Rutgers. "I wanted to come to Ohio State to play for Coach Meyer and to do big things in his offense. I really believed it would get to this point, and I am just going to keep working hard to make sure I accomplish the things I came here for."

Ohio State is putting an emphasis on going out wide more in this year's offense, and yet again we saw a sweep play with redshirt freshman Jalin Marshall sporting a sweet little spin move. He expects to be involved in Ohio State's offense this year.

Miller was shown once throwing a pass.

Marshall is competing with Dontre Wilson at the hybrid back spot. Though Wilson is considered to have the edge, the Buckeyes have a role planned for Marshall.

“I don’t know if he’s the starter — he certainly could be — but he’s going to play,” Ohio State receivers coach Zach Smith said. “It’s a matter of how much — and how much he touches the ball.”

Jalin Marshall’s head wasn’t right a year ago, and it wasn’t just because of the concussion he suffered during preseason camp.

That injury short-circuited the Middletown native’s first year at Ohio State. But Marshall now knows that he had plenty of maturing to do.

After redshirting in 2013, he believes he’s ready to make the impact for the Buckeyes that so many have predicted for the former five-star recruit.

FISHERS, Ind. – Led by senior Kara Brinkmann’s (Middletown, Ohio) hole-in-one, the Ohio University women’s golf team currently rests in a tie for sixth-place with Ball State after carding a round-one combined-team score of 318 (+30) on Friday (April 25) at the 2014 Mid-American Conference Championships at The Hawthorns Golf & Country Club in Fishers, Ind.

Despite early rain and late gusts of wind, Ohio’s mark of 318 bests last year’s performance in the first round of the league championships by 25 strokes and is the Bobcats' best showing in the tournament’s first round since 2006.

In her MAC Championships debut, freshman Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) dazzled the greens with a first-round score of 73 (+1) to push her into a tie for third place. The rookie has now tallied six rounds of 75 or below in 2013-14.

In a day to remember, Brinkmann fired a 78 (+6) in the tournament’s first round to finish the day in a tie for 15th place. She achieved the lone eagle of the tournament when she struck a hole-in-one on the 15th hole, a par-3.

Senior Kristen Helmsdoerfer (Westerville, Ohio) rests in a tie for 33rd place after carding an 83 (+11).

Junior Julie Lechner (Powell, Ohio) and sophomore Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) currently sit in a tie for 36th place after tallying first-round scores of 84 (+12), respectively.

Ohio will be paired with Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois in the second round on Saturday (April 26). The Bobcats will tee-off at 8:50 a.m. ET.
