Bright pinks, blues and reds and stands out like a sore thumb with the more subdued colors on the buildings surrounding it. It helps contribute to a "Mexican paint scheme in Tijuana". Hardly fits in with the more conservative schemes of a typical midwestern town.

It basically looks out of place to me and "cheapens" the downtown area as well. This mural would be better suited at Traders World or Jungle Jim's in Fairfield with it's "carnival" appearance. To be objected, there are murals that have been painted in Franklin and on other buildings in Middletown that have a much nicer appearance and aren't as "in your face" as to brightness. This mural should never have been approved in it's current form. JMO

What they did to Vivian is a crime. One of the many reasons why I was never a Gilleland supporter. Glad she is gone to ruin yet another town somewhere. (Germantown perhaps?) One of the worse city managers ever IMO. Did a lot of damage to this city.

Anyone know where Adkins ended up?

Over the last several years the 6 tennis courts at Lefferson Park have been converted from crumbling, unused tennis courts to 18 beautiful pickleball courts that see a LOT of daily use. Middletown Pickleball Association has spent about $30,000 this year alone in improvements to Lefferson Park. Every dime of this money came from members of MPA. No city money has been used. They offer free lessons every Wednesday evening at 6 PM to anyone that shows up. I encourage everyone to check out the fastest growing sport in the country and to see what a gem of a facility we have right here in Middletown.

Let our city government overseerenewal, innovation and progress without thechoking and unnecessaryordinance and red tape. A majority of the building code whichstifles new business, needs to be expunged. This code was introducedand compounded by former city manager, Adkins. Foryears, Vivian Moon was aconsummate volunteer who legally, above board andsingle handed improved, repaired, landscaped and managed the historicMiddletown Cemetery. Shealso served as unpaid researchcontact for genealogy inquiries. A former city manager, JudyGilleland, confiscatedVivian’s legally foundednon-profit cemeteryfund (some of which were herpersonal contribution) andhad her flower beds mowed down. Die on the vine? Did someone actually make a decision that this was a stupid idea that would be a money waster with the community not interested in participating? Couldn't raise the money? We closed two public pools due to a lack of interest from the community. Why would you propose an even bigger venue than the ones closed? Not logical to offer this idea any longer for this city.
