Butler County Children's Services

Article in the Journal today- Union head says an unfair comparison has been made on wages based on the size of the county. What?? What does the county size have to do with anything? The subject focus is on the frequency of raises incurred by Children's Services employees, not the amount of work done by small counties as opposed to larger counties. Currently, an employee can be awarded a raise after " a certain amount of time"(I assume this means after a 90 day probationary period) AND a step increase in the same year. If they are promoted, the whole process starts again. What if they are promoted within the same year? Does that mean that they could receive the 90 day probation increase, the step increase, the probation increase after job promotion and the step increase in the same year? That's four raises in one year! Is that possible? That's rapid fire! That's also ludicrious and an abuse of taxpayer money and someone needs to pay the price(fired) for such a program. Who, in their right mind, would have agreed to bargaining with any union under those terms? This isn't even close to a real world scenario. Are you people that intimidated by these union people? Fix this now!
