Police continue investigation into PTO theft

MIDDLETOWN — Theft charges are pending against the treasurer of a parent teacher organization in Middletown City Schools who has admitted to police he stole more than $7,000 from money made through fundraisers, police said.

Police said they the treasurer allegedly admitted he took funds from the school’s PTO account for a year. The treasurer is not being identified because no charges have been filed against him for the alleged theft, which was reported to police on Sept. 22.

NO CHARGES FILED EVEN THOUGH THE GUY ADMITTED (NO "ALLEGED" ABOUT IT ACCORDING TO THE FIRST PARAGRAPH- "WHO HAS ADMITTED") HE TOOK THE MONEY? WHY NO CHARGES? WHY NO NAME MENTIONED AS YET IF AN ADMISSION OCCURED? IS SPECIAL TREATMENT BEING ADMINISTERED HERE FOR THIS PERSON? INNER SCHOOL NETWORK AT WORK HERE PERHAPS?

Suiter said even though the PTO was not sure whether it wanted to pursue charges against him at this time, (check the statement at the end of the story, which contradicts this statement)

AGAIN, WHY ARE THEY TREATING THIS PERSON WITH KID GLOVES?

Reeve said based on the amount of money the treasurer is able to return to the fund will determine what degree of felony he is eventually charged with.

REALLY, SO THE GUY IS GETTING A CHANCE TO RETURN THE MONEY TO REDUCE THE CHARGE? HMMM. WOULD EVERYONE IN THIS SITUATION HAVE THAT SAME OPPORTUNITY? I WOULD BET NOT, DEPENDING ON WHO YOU ARE.

He said the PTO does want the department to proceed with charges against the man and added he believes the case will be presented to the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office in less than a month.

ALRIGHT, NOW THIS SOUNDS MORE LIKE IT. THE INFORMATION IN THIS STORY JUST PRESENTS AN ODD SCENARIO AND HAS A SLIGHT "BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO GIVE THIS GUY AN OUT" THEME TO IT, IMO.
