From the Journal....

Middies no match for national powerhouse
Coach says Middletown players learned some lessons along the way.

The Middies grabbed an 8-4 lead in the first six minutes against national power Huntington (W.Va.) Prep, but the Express were unstoppable from there. Speed, size and abundant skills have a way of doing that.
Sunday night’s final score was 84-30 in the Flyin’ to the Hoop boys basketball showcase at Fairmont’s Trent Arena.

I was told that Huntington Prep is a high school team with players at the AAU level, above most high school teams. Some of the players have experience "beyond the high school level". With their size, talent and experience, it is no wonder they are blowing everyone out of the gym. I can understand playing them to foster growing the talent of your players, but I can also see where a blowout like this could deflate the Middies from this point forward. Jalin Marshall said the game meant nothing, but we'll have to see from this point forward, what damage, if any, this game did to the Middie's mental game. Look for potential letdowns. Hopefully not. Doesn't make sense to bring in a team that is light years away from the rest. Kinda defeats the competition portion of the tournament. JMO
