Middletown Journal story.....

Middletown government employees don't accurately reflect city's population

MIDDLETOWN — The diversity of Middletown government’s public employees is not completely reflective of the city’s population, but data shows that it’s close in some areas.
Some community members say it’s not close in too many other areas.
Dora Bronston, president of the Middletown Area NAACP, and Wanda Glover, chairwoman of the Second Ward Community Council, said the city needs to do a better job in recruitment.
“The complexion of the city government should at least represent the culture that live in that city,” said Bronston. “I can’t say who has the education and who has the qualifications, or who is willing to work in a particular career, but there should be some reflection of the city.”
The Middletown Journal examined five years of employment data, which shows the city employed between 22 and 23 minorities from 2007 until 2010. Last year, 25 minorities, which was 7.6 percent of the city’s workforce, were employed by the city.

LIKE CLOCKWORK, AND JUST LIKE JESSE JACKSON AND AL SHARPTON OFTEN DO, WE HAVE FOLKS IN TOWN THAT OCCASIONALLY BRING TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THERE IS NO FAIRNESS IN THE WORLD AND THAT THE HIRING OF MINORITIES SHOULD BE INCREASED SIMPLY BECAUSE THE MINORITY NUMBERS ARE NOT WHERE THEY SHOULD BE. APPARENTLY, QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB ARE NOT NECESSARILY A REQUIREMENT. TO BE TOTALLY UNBIAS, SHOULDN'T THE JOB BE AWARDED TO THE MOST QUALIFIED INSTEAD OF USING THE MINORITY QUOTA AGENDA BASED ON AREA POPULATION?

NOW HERE'S A GOOD ONE FROM OUR BUDDY, OLD LESLIE LANDEN......

While there’s no legal obligation to have the employee base reflect the community, Law Director Les Landen said it is important to have the city government be reflective of the community.
“I think it’s a benefit to everyone in an organization,” he said. “Diversity is a tremendous benefit. You need an organization that looks something like your community.”

THAT'S RIGHT LES, GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE A REFLECTION OF THE COMMUNITY. (IN ALL FACETS INCLUDING INVOLVEMENT OF CITY BUSINESS/DIRECTION) PROBLEM IS, YOUR CITY GOVERNMENT LEADERS ARE MASTERS AT SHUNNING MOST OF THIS COMMUNITY, CATER TO ONLY A SMALL CONTINGENT OF THE INNER CIRCLE PEOPLE AND ACT ON THE REQUESTS OF A SMALL FACET OF THIS TOWN'S RESIDENTS.

"DIVERSITY IS A TREMENDOUS BENEFIT", SO SAYS THE LANDENMEISTER.

THIS CITY IS ABOUT AS FAR AWAY FROM RECOGNIZING DIVERSITY (IN ACCEPTING IDEAS AND TOLERATING THOSE OUTSIDE THE REALM OF THE MMF KINGDOM), AS IT GETS.

MORE UNBELIEVABLE CRAP FROM A CITY ADMINISTRATOR. LESLIE, STICK TO THE SILLINESS OF THE CHRISTMAS SONG AT THE CITY BUILDING AND CHANGING THE LAW TO ACCOMODATE THE SITUATION. YOUR IRRITATING HIGH PITCHED PANTOMIMING IS BETTER THAN YOUR WEAK PR CRAP DEMONSTRATED BY THIS STORY.
