II. LEGISLATION

1. Ordinance No. O2012-66, an ordinance establishing a procedure for and authorizing a contract between the City and the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College for the transfer of City owned property. (2nd Reading)

 

2. Resolution No. R2013-01, a resolution to establish the HUD Section 108 Loan Fund and to make adjustments to appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures of the City of Middletown, Counties of Butler and Warren, State of Ohio, for the period ending December 31, 2013 and declaring this an emergency measure.

 

3. Ordinance No. O2013-01, an ordinance establishing a procedure for and authorizing the extension of a lease of certain real property to Butler County MetroParks and declaring an emergency.

 

4. Ordinance No. O2013-02, an ordinance establishing a procedure for and authorizing the lease of a portion of the City Building to the Middletown City School District. (1st Reading)

 

III. EXECUTIVE SESSION

Under the authority of O.R.C. 121.22 (G) (1) To consider the appointment of a public official; and (2) To consider the purchase of property for public purposes, or for the sale of property at competitive bidding, if premature disclosure of information would give an unfair competitive or bargaining advantage.

City-school contract details released

MIDDLETOWN —
Middletown City Schools’ administration offices will be located on the city building’s fourth floor for at least the next 10 years if the school board and city council approve a lease agreement later this month.

City Council had a first reading Tuesday for a contract that would consummate the deal that would allow the Middletown City School District’s administration office to vacate 1515 Girard Ave. and move into One Donham Plaza

Councilman A.J. Smith asked if the city had explored other buildings for the district to move into, rather than moving into city hall. Gilleland said the city had explored other options, but none were as viable.

Mayor Larry Mulligan said while the city building isn’t Class A office space, there isn’t comparable office space “that would be move-in ready condition as quickly as our space would be. I think anything else would require more extensive renovations.”

AND, NOT MENTIONED BY GILLELAND NOR SIR LAWRENCE MULLIGAN, THE CITY WILL BE GETTING $5400+ A MONTH IN ADDITIONAL REVENUE FROM THE SCHOOLS AS LEASE MONEY. IF THE SCHOOLS LOCATED INTO ANOTHER BUILDING THAT WAS NOT UNDER THE CITY'S OWNERSHIP, THE CITY WOULD NOT HAVE ANOTHER REVENUE SOURCE TO SUPPLY A CASH STRAPPED BUDGET. THE CITY IS LOOKING FOR GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS IN ALL DIRECTIONS TO SUPPLY THEIR MONEY TAP. THEY ARE BROKE AND ARE SCROUNGING FOR MONEY. THIS IS WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU DO NOT CREATE JOBS AND HAVE EMPLOYERS LOCATE IN TOWN TO PULL CORPORATE AND PAYROLL TAXES FROM......LIKE MOST NORMAL CITIES DO.
I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.
