In Live on a Major road in Middletown, Rather than haul large items to the dump, it is just as easy to place these items on the sideof the road and allow someone who can use them to take them.  For example,I  have placed a working dish washer at the curb and it was gone in 10 minutes, I most recently placed part of an a entertainment center on the side of the road on a sunday afternoon and before we got the second piece out a mother and daughter stopped to ask if they could have it as it would be perfect for their kitchen as a pantry.  I was more than happy to let them have it.  It saved us dump fees and kept the community clean.  My Son even loaded it in their car for them.

Anyone need a used color copier that just needs a tune up by a certified copy tech?  It is going for free, whether you want it for parts or as a copier.  If you want it, please responde by April 30.  If no one responds, out to the curb it goes.

They drive so fast trying to beat the other heroin addicts to it, takes lots of scrap metal for the next fix. And I'm not trying to be sarcastic.

The business scrappers are far worse.
They root through trash, ripping open sealed bags, throwing it everywhere.
Plus-- they steal anything left outside momentarily.

Is it legal to go on private property to rummage through sealed(or even loose) refuse?.

We have them also. Put our trash out Sunday evening. The scrappers start about 4PM looking for metal placed at the curb. Does help reduce the amount of junk that would otherwise end up in the landfill. Hey, if they make the effort to check the neighborhoods prior to Rumpke coming, I say more power to 'em. They are in and out of the neighborhood in minutes ane the same ones usually come each week. JMO
I'm so proud of my hometown and what it has become. Recall 'em all. Let's start over.

I would like for the City and Middletown Journal to address the issues about the number of "Scrappers" that rummage through Middletown the day before and on Trash Day. I think Yesterday on Dover Ave. we have over 25 different scrappers that raced down and back up our street breaking the speed limit looking for metal.

I don't have a problem with the "Scrappers" that slowly drive through, and pickup items without making a mess. But I do have a major problem with the ones that speed, and trashes up the entire area just for some scrap metal. I often wonder if it is even worth it considering the money spent on gas, and the wear and tear on their vehicles.
