While the streets crumble, Section 8 overwhelmes the city and casts it into a welfare town, the Towne mall is empty, the cemetery is falling into disrepair, the living wage jobs are non-existent, the businesses are moving out at a rapid rate, the remaining business people are treated poorly, there is no logical economic development plan that actually makes sense, the image of the town is decimated, the schools are a poor performer, controversy about the pool, no entertainment for the citizens, the downtown has no logical development plan that is feasible, the gutters are rusting and the paint is peeling, residents are cited for the appearance of their property, blighted HUD houses, corrupt backdoor dealings and possible mishandling of city/HUD money, the city manager wants to "focus" on DIVERSITY and it's importance in the grand scheme of things here in this town. WOW! Nothing like having a clear picture on what this town needs first.

hAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU, vET.
nOT TRYING TO POUND THE NEGATIVE ASPECTS, HOWEVER i AM SO TIRED OF WATCHING cOUNCIL MEETINGS THAT IN ACTUALITY, ACCOMPLISH NEXT TO NOTHING OTHER THAN  the members all feeling a need to get some face time with comments that usually go nowhere or solve anything.

This Council group, despite their claims, has probably accomplished less, solved little, and been more citizen un-friendly than the prior lineup that caused so much uproar.

I thought Mr.Becker raised legitimate concerns and ?s Tuesday, and Mr.Atkins(in his new position) blew the Councilman off light swatting away a gnat. He be-littled Mr.B's concerns and ?s like no real answer was necessary.

Time for Council to take control of Admin.
Council should definitively and immediately set  the course for Admin., and those not following proper direction should be replaced or re-assigned to a lower position(instead of being up-graded to a higher position for which they are not qualified).

I still believe that our city manager is a wonderful person with tremendous potential. However, she might need some firm "guidance" as to the future direction of where we want to go as a municipality, and the reality of our upcoming financial position.

Despite all of the charter review proposals and publicity, I don't really see much important there. In no way do I support the Council changes other than term limits. That issue will probably be my only "YES" vote.

Mike
You sure do know how to push my buttons and start my day.
I really need to know the address of this important alley so I can go take a photo of it. Then I will go down and have a 8 x 10 glossy made, frame it and hang it over my desk so I can be reminded daily what was more important than the Vault at the Middletown Cemetery, that Mrs Anita Scott Jones stated was SOOOOO expensive to restore...Censored
Yes sir Mike you sure do know how to make a girls day...

Spider you are right on with this statement and my first thoughts we right along with Mr. Becker's.

"I thought Mr.Becker raised legitimate concerns and ?s Tuesday, and Mr.Atkins(in his new position) blew the Councilman off light swatting away a gnat. He be-littled Mr.B's concerns and ?s like no real answer was necessary."

When Atkins stated that Middletown was going to take the lead and the other cities agreed and that Middletown looks like they are going to get the lions share of the money, I wondered what was the catch that was coming from HUD.  More Section 8. more Public Housing, were the other Municipalities placating Middletown in the hopes that we would continue to be the Section 8 Capital of Butler County.   Becker should stick to his guns, he tends to back down on the Section 8 and Public Housing issue to easily.
