The Journal has a story listing some of the free and "almost free" local entertainment (family night movies specifically) in the surrounding cities. Not surprising, Middletown is not listed as offering any.

Been suggested before- will try again. Occasionally, you will read a comment from people in town that there is nothing to do. Couple that with the fact that few have discretionary income to allow for a night out, especially young families with kids. Soooo, how about the Broad St. Bash stage location, setting up a screen and showing some family style Saturday evening movies on the big screen? Might bring in some food vendors for added attraction as well. Just a thought. That stage could be used for much more than just the Bash, can't it? Also have a pavillion down by the river (not to be confused with Chris Farley's van down by the river ) that could be used for movie viewing (until the mosquitos pick you up and carry you away, of course). Just a thought. Now, who's got the AV equipment to pull this off? TV Middletown perhaps, as a public service for financing their operation????

Any chance of this, or anything else happening at the Bicentennial Commons?

I thought that the parking situation was recently enhanced, plus a lot of people paide for bricks at that location.

Why has this large site been mothballed?

Maybe the Arts Central Foundation could do their music on that stage , sine the Sorg Opera House is now reportedly seriously disfunctional.
