This morning a dumpster was sitting out front and a forklift was sitting at the tower entry.  I guess this building is coming down too.  Anyone have photos?

Hopefully it will be getting renovated and not demolished.

115 Main Street.

Most of the interior has been stripped and will be used at Stained 1054 Bistro (organ case, pews, stained glass).

Just heard the church is going to be dismantled piece by piece and shipped on 40 trucks to San Antonio, Texas.  It will then be rebuilt as an upscale general merchandise store in a Beverly Hills type area.  The process to dismantle and number the stones is supposed to take 2 months.  Too bad the building will be gone, but sounds like it has an exciting future.

Did Stained buy the property? How were they able to get access to those things?

@over the hill,

The magic of LLCs and the land of make believe, I believe.  The only problem with the land of make believe is it eventually ends.

Here's the article i found in late Feb that mentions the project.  The article didn't make it sound concrete, so I wasn't certain it was going to happen.

It's my understanding that a 503(c) obtained certain rights to salvageable elements of the property, but not the property itself.   I am uncertain from who these rights were obtained.

It appears the property has been held by the State of Ohio since Nov 2012.  Melissa Fox is the agent of 119SMain LLC.

If anything positive comes of this:

1.) A deteriorating hazard to the neighborhood is removed
2.) It is removed at the expensive of a third party and not the local government (or so it appears)
3.) It's history is preserved (hopefully) both as a rebuilt structure elsewhere and key elements in downtown Middletown in restored property.

Here's the property's history:
