Anyone have any idea why NCR is heading South?

Peachtree, near Atlanta, has been their main research/development center for many years. Their operation has been shifting in that direction for a long time.

Dayton is deader than dead, and demand for NCR hardware is way down.
Theier equipment is very good but very pricey.
I used NCR equipment for nearly 50 years, but have now switched to a less expensive competitor.

They used to own the market--now they don't.

Sad state of affairs for Dayton. Can there be any more bad news to come? Probably. Maybe Toyota or Honda will be interested in some of the area automotive production facilities.

They are being given close to $100 million to do so.

I worked for NCR about 23 years ago at their facility on Washington Church Rd in Miamisburg.

I am surprised they have hung on this long.
