A recent reader comment on the Broad Street Bash article in the Middletown Journal attempted to demean the efforts of four honest, caring citizens who frequently post here on MiddletownUSA. This blatantly dishonest characterization of four of Middletown's best has no validity.
Far too much goes on behind the scenes insofar as municipal government operations are concerned. A few power brokers influence policy that have impacted our one prosperous community.
I am proud to know these four individuals (Men of the Apocalypse) who have the dedication and vision to bring about open and honest governance in Middletown again.

| I noticed that too Leo. I posted a reply asking "Thankful", the poster in question, just who these four "men of the apocalypse" were. No reply as of this posting. Apparently a citizen who only is capable of looking at the surface fluff shoveled by the city folks and not the dirt under the carpet. I guess for this person, all the city needs to do is throw a band and some food at them once every two weeks and everything's good in paradise. Wow- talking about denial of reality!!! |

The city didn't have anything to do with throwing the band or the food, that was a private venture by people trying to make a difference. ------------- The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it is open. |

That's right drumford, to be more specific, some concerned citizens, trying to make a difference, were responsible for the band/food and Mr. Wendel is to be commended for the idea and the production portion of this event. This is a nice community event and more of these types of things are needed. Positive comments have been thrown Mr. Wendel's way for this event and we all recognize this is a good thing.
The issue: The "apocalyptic" comment was in reference to the approach used on this forum. When we are fed, on a daily basis, "apocalyptic" news about the city, we tend to react in a like fashion. Don't you think it's rather "apocalyptic" what the city leaders are doing to this town? We are more "realist" in nature- not "rose-colored glasses" folks. The town is what it is despite all the flowers being planted, the Balloon glows, the concerts, the rusty gutters being painted, and, yes, even the Weds. Night Bash- all good, but all surface fluff while the city deteriorates from inside out. JMO |
