I don't get it,from now until September Middeltown PD as well as Trenton,Monroe and the Highway Patrol will be performing OVI crackdown. So does this tell us that at any other time they DON'T crack down on OVI ?? That's exactly what it sounds like. And what is different during these stings or crackdowns ? Don't officers on patrol ALWAYS watch for drunk drivers and unsafe drivers at all times ?
I will assume,as I always do,that these so called crackdowns & stings are nothing more than an excuse to perform traffic stops and search vehicles for a no good reason. The same applies for road blocks,if police are merely looking for drunk drivers during a road block then why are some vehicles pulled to the side and asked for ID,proof of insurance and so forth ? Anyone who says we do not live in a police state is apperantly smoking an illegal substance.
