Can Monroe & Middletown Survive the Outcome?

A little over a month ago Monroe Residents fought tooth and nail to petition down the New Construction of a http://mackenziegasproject.com/moreInformation/publications/documents/Compressor_Stations.pdf" target=_blank>Gas Processing Plant built by The Rockies Express Pipeline. Much to resident hopes it was petitioned down by http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com/Voice/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5451&SearchTerms=Gas,pipeline" target=_blank>Mary Detcher , Steven Urso and a faithful band of http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com/" target=_blank>Main Street Monroe Voice Posters. Monroe Residents say they have enough questions from the http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com/Voice/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=930&SearchTerms=Gas,pipeline" target=_blank>TEPPCO worries.

Although, The Rockies Express Pipeline has purchased land North of Monroe just approximately within 150 or so feet within Middletown City limits. Monroe residents are still scared of the plausible outcomes of an http://www.energyjustice.net/naturalgas/pipelines/austin-pipelines.html" target=_blank>explosion that could rock the Northern half of City limits which entail a medium sized business a newly built residential neighborhood and older existing residents on Garver Rd. Not to Mention the newer business park located around the proposed Station in Middletowns City Limits. They are sitting back questioning Middletowns logic in letting them acquire the recently purchased land. They are asking; Does Middletown care about the outcome of a possible explosion? Are Middletowns City employees concerned at all about the possible risks? Have the bridges of Middletown and Monroe been burnt for good?

Citizens of Monroe are truly concerned but have heard nothing in reply or concern from Middletowns City Commission.

Personally, I would have to agree that this is a true Money situation for whatever city is willing to let them construct their Station. There is serious potential for money to be made and taxes to be had.

But, at whos hands will the lives of innocent citizens be in if such an http://www.energyjustice.net/naturalgas/pipelines/austin-pipelines.html" target=_blank>occurrence should happen?

I encourage the City of Middletown Citizens to look into this further and see just exactly what is going to be built.

As I have said, http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com/Voice/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5451" target=_blank>Monroe Citizens fought tooth and nail to ensure this didnt get into Monroes area but is it http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com/Voice/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5451&SearchTerms=Gas,pipeline" target=_blank>Still too Close?

Ask yourselves this, Is this really needed in your town? Are innocent lives really worth the risk of tax money? As well, if there is a problem from this newly proposed and soon to be built site. What plausable happenings would result from all the gas lines that AK Steel has running underneath its business and surroundings? Cry

For a little http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com/Voice/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5355&SearchTerms=Gas,pipeline" target=_blank>more information.  Dead
