I could not attend last nights meeting, so I was glad to see nothing had changed during council comments.

Very well orchestrated no comment statements ?

Why don't they all just plead the 5th when asked for comments.

Hermes,  what I find so interesting about the "No Comments" made at every council meeting by some is this. I have attended many a meeting and have hours upon hours of video saved. I sat down the other day and watched close to 30 hours of footage (I was checking on something) I noticed something in all that footage. Mr. Becker only spoke for 1 minute 34 seconds (and not all at once) how is it an elected official can sit for 34 hours worth of meetings and never ask a question?

My guess Randy would be, like many of us believe, is that council meetings, decisions on agenda are all done prior to the public meetings of Tuesday nights. Then the Tuesday night meetings are nothing more than show.

How else would one explain how legislation gets put through so quickly without any discussion.

Randy  - Out of 34 ± hours of meeting time how many council meetings is that ? 5 ? 10 ?

I hope Deerfield Twp. and now Warren County get more out of Becker than this city does as a Council Person.  It doesn't take much to sit there week after week and say nothing but .........."AYE".

He appears much of the time to be pissed off especially if the meetings start to take any length of time and god forbid someone starts asking questions.  You can see him getting more irritated by the minute.

I get the impression that he is being put out to be at many of these council meetings and if that is the case why doesn't he just resign and give someone that will at least show some interest in what is going on in Middletown a chance.

I'm curious. The article says that Becker is not violating the law, according to the Ohio Attorney General, on occupying a council seat and taking on this Warren County emergency director position. That's fine. Wonder.....does the city charter or rules governing the city official residency requirements state anything about this situation? Can a Midd. city councilman (or any city official) of Middletown occupy another government position in another town or county without violating or having some conflict of some rules of the city? Guess Schiavone did it with his Hamilton and Mason government jobs while a councilperson didn't he.
