very surprised that  the MJ quotes from Admin's Russ Carolus haven't created a buzz or discussion here.
I found them to be very interesting at the least.
I applaud the man for having the gonads to raise the discussion in the direction that he chose

I took it he was showing the maner Middletown continues to be business unfirendly- raising issues over this credit, and may have jeopardized AK's keeping those R&d researchers around. Maybe Mr. Wainscott now puts them in West Chester. What about giving the school system the water tap in abatement even though it was budgeted and paid for by the taxpayer? Was that money used by the board elsewhere? Agree fighting with neighbors never helpful. Lets rest assured: with th right offer and circumstance, AK would shut down Middletown or sell to X or others tomorrow. What you fail to realize is WC, Springboro, many municipalities can afford to make the credits, because they started trolling for smiles in ED decades before Middletown knew it existed and was a practice.

couldn't anyone at COM foresee this request could be made?  Heck, doesn't the city know it's own tax abatement offerings?  Maybe SunCoke should have mentioned this earlier but why should this be a shock.
