Chicago Teacher on Tax Hike: ‘Give Up the Bucks’

Posted By Publius On April 22, 2010 @ 9:44 am In Big Labor, Education, News, Politics, State Politics | #comments_controls - 98 Comments

This is what the welfare state looks like. The formerly great state of Illinois, having thoroughly run its budget into the ground, is considering digging an even deeper hole by raising taxes. Exactly the shot in the arm the economy needs!

Of course, public sector unions are in full-throttle support of the tax grab. (No recession for those that live of taxpayers.) On Wednesday, a phalanx of public sector employees, including SEIU, Illinois Education Association, Illinois Federation of Teachers, AFSCME, and AFL-CIO, rallied in support of the tax hike in the capital, Springfield.

This public school teacher, who was likely given the day off to attend the rally, left no doubt about her reasons for supporting the tax hike.

Yes, this woman is responsible for educating some number of your children. Her chant goes to the heart of what’s wrong with our public school system…it is designed for the adults in the system, i.e. teachers and not the children.

The task at hand is even bigger than we feared.

The Cloward-Piven strategy in practice. Overload the handout, bailout, and social programs while at the same time, eroding the tax base. Collapse = new form of government.   Currently, 52.6 percent of Americans receive significant income from government programs, according to an analysis by Gary Shilling, an economist in Springfield, N.J.   This figure was at 49.4 percent in 2000 and 28.3 percent in 1950.  By creating an ever-increasing class of government dependents while there is a decrease in taxpayers, a collapse in the economy is inevitable.  Further, the damage done by destroying the American work ethic will ruin us as a people.  There will no longer be incentive to come up with new ideas, products, or processes.  An economic collapse is what Columbia University social scientists Richard Cloward and Francis Fox Piven sought in a 1965 publication.  This collapse was to bring about a new form of government . Ostensibly, this was to usher in an era of Marxism in America.  The American Dream was to be killed off once and for all by the total and complete collapse of America as we now know it.

Will they succeed?  The foundation has already been laid.   The Left has control of the necessary means of changing the American mindset- the media, the entertainment industry, and most importantly, they control the education system.  The Italian Marxist philosopher, Antonio Gramsci proposed using the education system to bring about Marxist revolution through subtle indoctrination over time.  This put him at odds with Communist leaders like Lenin and Stalin who believed that only violent revolution would subjugate the West under the heel of Marxism.  Indeed, Gramsci's strategy seems to have worked as evidenced by the large number of socialist republics now in Western Europe (and soon to be in America, I might add).

It is only by counter-education that this onslught might be turned around.  However, it will not be an easy task.  Joseph Paul Gobbels, the German Minister of Propaganda during the 1930's and '40's stated "If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth."  With the Left in control of education, media, and the government, a consistent (although irrational) message is being drummed into young and impressionable minds.  Let us endeavor to shine the light of truth on the lies.  Know your facts and talk to your friends and neighbors . . . before it's too late.

How well we know the above statement is so true as evidenced when G W Bush was president.
