I know that it's too late to save this handsome, historically significant former elementary school.  Was a residential adaptive reuse option ever considered by the School Board, School staff, City Council, City staff, etc. for the Roosevelt Elementary School?  Did they ever meet with prospective adaptive reuse developers?

Nelson, in case you haven't heard the object in Middletown is to reduce the number of low income housing units and persons.  We currently have to much for the city to handle service wise, economically and the city will never grow or prosper with this much poverty.

This well-known development in Hot Springs houses physically handicapped residents only.

Could it make economic sense to see the disabled occupying quality ADA-compliant loft apartments than roughly 30 of some of the less than desirable subsidized houses that we all too well know?

Physically handicapped HUD Housing Choice Voucher holders live in these loft apartments which has greatly helped to stabilize the surrounding neighborhood.

The former Hot Springs High School had stood vacant for nearly 20 years before this project was undertaken.
