 According to a guy at research, they got rid of the old crew doing the demo because they were too slow. This new crew is moving right along.

Wish they would leave the columns standing as a monument and testament to Middletown's industrial dominance during most of the 20th century.

Since they were engaged columns, I'm not sure if they would have stood by themselves, but it certainly would have been nice to retain certain elements of the building.

This morning:
 
 
This evening: Toast. The original GO building is down. The only thing still standing is the flag pole. It also looked like they were unwrapping the newer north building where asbestos was being abated.

Regardless of the marital status (single, engaged, married, or divorced) of these columns, if someone would've believed it was a capital idea, they could easily have beenmade to be freestanding. The calculations are simple. One wouldn’t need a computer, or even an abacus. LOL
