Councilman reviews clubs for Golf Digest's hot list
MIDDLETOWN — It was an experience Tom Allen would best describe as “a golfer’s Nirvana.”
The 46-year-old Middletown resident and First Ward representative was recently selected as a player for Golf Digest’s Hot List 2011.
Having gotten involved in the sport late in high school and continued with it through his corporate career, Allen said golf has turned into a relaxing game he loves. It’s one that he said presents a constant challenge.
“It was literally the trip of a lifetime if you are a golfer,” he said. “I can’t imagine anything better.”
Now, 'ole Tom needs to put as much enthusiasm and effort into being a councilman as he apparently does with golf.
Is this newsworthy or is this a filler story? Do most Middletonians want, care or need to know this? I would rather read of his successes and enthusiasm sitting behind that council seat. Haven't seen it yet, Tom. JMO
