Watching the council meeting replay that involved an update from Dobrozi of Al Neyer, I was stunned that council had zero questions for him.  What we heard we basically a history lesson of all the planning done for the east end from 2006-2008.  Then a short mention that patience was needed because of the great recession.  And of course the usual kudos all around for all the "hard work" being done.  And that's it.
 
Considering the rapid expansion of the new Austin Blvd interchange (including the cancer center), why is no one asking why businesses are going in there but not much activity in our Renaissance district?  I thought our Master Plan called for a medical and technology hub at our exit.  Seems like a good  spot for a cancer center, no?  When will hard questions be asked of Neyer about what is going on?

Could it be because they don't really want growth???
Could it be because they have accepted the recommendations of the Mater Plan Steering Committee for:
  • Quaint feeling
  • Small town feel (20,000 pop.)
Well, we will never know.  They will discuss things like this (things that are "too sensitive" to be discussed in front of the people) at the semi-secret early meeting, and we now know the local "positve newspaper" won't report the goings on at those meetings.
