Sentencing day for former politician cancelled

CINCINNATI — Sentencing for former Butler County politician Michael A. Fox scheduled for later this month in federal court has been cancelled.

Michael A. Fox was to be sentenced Jan. 23 by U.S. District Court Judge Sandra Beckwith, but that date was vacated by the judge last week.

Last week Fox’s attorneys filed a motion requesting the court appoint independent medical experts to conduct an evaluation of Fox’s mental and physical health, arguing any significant prison time would be “equivalent to a death sentence

NOW WAIT A MINUTE ATTORNEYS......

In March, Fox, 63, agreed to a plea with a 48-month sentence, admitting guilt to the charges of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and filing a false tax return while serving as county commissioner

YOUR CLIENT ADMITTED TO THIS AND AGREED.....AGREED TO A PLEA WITH A 48 MONTH SENTENCE. HE MUST HAVE THOUGHT HE COULD DO THE TIME. LET HIM DO IT. HE COMMITTED THE CRIME, ADMITTED TO IT......NOW LET THE TAXPAYERS REAP THEIR JUSTICE FOR WHAT THE MAN ADMITTED DOING. WHY DO WE ALWAYS HEAR OF INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE GETTING A BETTER DEAL THAN THE AVERAGE CITIZEN? WHY THE SPECIAL TREATMENT JUDGES?

Wonder what this guy has done in his lifetime that he hasn't admited to.Im willing to bet if the judge dropped his prison sentence that his health would get better it reminds me of the gangster movies when the bosses get nailed they show up for court in wheel chairs and sucking on oxygen LOLLOLLOLLOL

Fox to begin prison term this month
63-year-old ex-politician expected to report June 22

Former Butler County politician Michael Fox is scheduled to begin serving a 48-month federal prison sentence this month.

The 63-year-old former county commissioner, state representative and county children services leader said he expects to “drive to Lexington and report for duty” on June 22. Due to a number of health issues, Fox will serve his sentence at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., he said

In the past three months, Fox said he as gained function in his knee and focused on spending as much time with friends and family as possible. He is thankful he will serve his time in a facility close enough for family to visit often.

Fox said he is not sure how someone prepares for prison, but he is looking at it as a place for him to retain his health and lose weight, which is the root of many of his health problems

SO, LOOKS LIKE THE CONVICTED FORMER POLITICIAN WILL GO TO A MEDICAL FACILITY IN LEXINGTON, BE RELATIVELY CLOSE TO HOME AND RECEIVE MEDICAL CARE ON THE TAXPAYER'S DIME DURING THE NEXT FOUR YEARS. NOT ONLY SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR THIS INDIVIDUAL, KEEPING HIM OUT OF THE GENERAL PRISON POPULATION, BUT WE ARE FOOTING THE BILL TO HELP HIM REGAIN HIS HEALTH. ISN'T IT GREAT SEEING THE BLATANT FAVORITISM FOR A PUBLIC FIGURE WHEN THE REST OF US, WHO ARE JUST FACES IN THE CROWD, GET LOST IN THE SHUFFLE? THIS IS NOT JUST MIKE FOX, BUT ANY PUBLIC FIGURE INCLUDING MARTHA STEWART. WHY DO WE, AS A SOCIETY, HOLD THESE NIMRODS IN SUCH HIGH REGARDS?
