A pickup truck and Middletown City School bus were involved in a head-on collision this morning on Manchester Rd, just west of the I-75 overpass.

We are unsure at point if any children were on the bus and if there are any injuries, but in a photo taken by Randy Lewis a second Middletown City School bus can be seen in the background.

According to the Middletown Journal:

"At least nine people are injured after a head-on crash between a truck and a Middletown City Schools bus carrying an estimated 45 students.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. today at 6138 Manchester Road in Franklin Twp.

The truck driver, who officials said was not wearing a safety belt, was seriously injured after going partially through a window. Seven students suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The school bus driver suffered a leg injury. Reports indicate six people were taken to Atrium Medical Center.

Both the bus and the truck sustained heavy damage in the crash. Officials said the truck, a Ram 1500, may have slid, and it clipped another truck before going head-on into the school bus.

Middletown fire personnel established a command post at the scene."
