Now that the elections are over, how beneficial it would be for Josh to be a more frequent contributor and analyst on MUSA.  His insight as a former City Councilman and practical thinking would mean much.  Please consider it, Josh.

Sadly It is evident that the TRUTH of the real condition of our city cost Mr Laubach the election.

Middletown will continue to have flat revenues for the next five years.
How are we going to pay for fire and police now and in the future??

Yes, really.  With few exceptions, most commentary here is based on newspaper articles or what might be said at city council meetings.  Josh has an insight on what's really happening.  I think that's of considerable value. Think about it.

Viv, I think our revenues will drop each year because of the idiots running our city (into the ground).

We MUST clean out the city building, the crooked council and all other criminals. Council is destroying our city on a daily basis. Do you know that between the buildings removed from the tax rolls [for the high-speed train, Cincinnati State, Swallens, the Antique Mall (wood shop swap), the Orman Building and Rose Furniture Building], the jobs lost (including income taxes of dozens of attorneys and their staffs ran out of downtown) and rental income from those buildings the city will take in about a million dollars less next year in tax revenue.
The tearing down of hundreds of homes that could and should be used, cost us the loss of property tax and any possible income tax. This will cost us another six figure loss to our tax collection. Council whines about the lack of money, but continues to destroy our tax base. Does that make sense to anyone?

This city will not go anywhere until Queen Judy is run out of town on a rail. The voters got rid of one of her yes men yesterday. Hopefully the Mulligans are next. She is over paid and lacks vision of any kind.

Thank you Nick and Vivian.  Your perspectives on Middletown are on target.  Keep up the good work.

I think the queen has felt the sting. She has to know her days are numbered. The Mulligan boys have to know that their playhouse is short lived. We have time to watch them self destruct.

This HUD situation is not over yet and the lies and deception on her part and Doug's part will be revealed.

For the sake of Middletown's future return of accountable government and neighborhood renewal, I hope that you are correct Over The Hill.  The dark days of misguided policies, plans and extravagant spending need to cease forthwith.  Like Viet Vet says, "it's time for a little housecleaning at One Donham Plaza."  I hope that Queen Judy and the Doogmeister are finally held accountable for their actions over the past five years.

I think you may be mistaken if you think the HUD situation will be a catastrophy or that Doug's fate is sealed.

Nor....Judy Gilleland's. Doug and Judy are to stay for years, same with M's, Picard,  Robinette, and Co.

But the real part that scares me is that council might consider Doug for city manger. Can they just sweep aside the lies he told and think that he will turn over a new leaf and not fib to them when his back is to the wall???
