Do you mean to tell us that the Voner and his associates will be out of business on Monday??? After all that work on remodeling? They never advertised and never offered any coupon specials in the paper. Guess you gotta do that to keep reminding the public that your business exists. It got good reviews when it opened on this forum. This location must be cursed. First Damon's, now BBQ Junc. Guess people just can't afford to eat out anymore unless it's the dollar menu at Mickie D's.

Grant money shouldn't be use to open resturants when there is so many other projects that the money could have been used on.

Grant money from the City of Middletown to START a business?
Never heard of it. We tried with the city in 2003 to see what they had to offer and nada,,,,,,,,you actually had to own the building.

I, too, hate to hear of any business going under. I liked the food. I miss the old Damons still.

Oh, here's another thought.
Does he have to pay the city back for being in business less than a year?

MM- Is there a stipulation that a business, who received a loan from the city, pay it back if in business for less than a year? If so, it will be interesting to see if that happens, given one of the previous owners is a councilman. Drove past the place yesterday. Wasn't open long enough to take down the remodeling banner. Another victim of the economy. Looks like 10 for $10 items at the discount grocery stores and the dollar menues at the fast food places are the only areas of business that are doing fairly well.

Very sad for sure.

Wish I could have gone more often. The food was great.

Did the City of Middletown give them a loan?  I thought the loan was from Butler County.

They had a good lunch menu, I would go there for their last day, but a wise man once told me that going to a restaurant on their last day is a bad idea.

Swohio: You are correct.  The loan did come from Butler County.  However, the source of the money was still the TAXPAYERS!!!

Journal story today about the closure. Mentioned that Schiavone won't comment on the advice from his attorney about a pending lawsuit. Wonder what that's all about??? Don't tell me the Voner's in trouble!!!
