Our city lost one of its greatest treasures last Thursday night. Mr. Sherron epitomized what it meant to be a servant leader, through his lifelong devotion to his church, the Middletown Historical Society, and the Boy Scouts. A truly great man.

Funeral services have been announced for Mr. Sherron. Here is a link to his obituary on the funeral home's website.
Visitation will be at Wilson Schram Spaulding funeral home on Roosevelt Blvd from 5 - 8 PM on Friday, June 9. An additional visitation time will occur at Middletown's First United Methodist Church on Broad Street from 12:30 - 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 10. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will be following the funeral at the Butler County Memorial Park on Oxford State Road. The family has requested that any Scouts or Scouters who attend to wear their uniforms to the visitation and/or funeral. Also they would like to line the roadway at the cemetary into the gravesite with Scouts in uniform displaying their unit and US flags. If you would like to assist or participate with this, please contact us at t18middletown@gmail.com, or you can send me a private message here. |

After reading the chest-thumping sos back and forth in the prior topic, it hit me square that this topic is FARmire meaningful.
We have lost a strong personality who was dedicated to the outstanding personal growth qualities inherent within the scouting program. The # of young lives partially shaped by this man has to be huge. I bow my head to a man who contributed so much of his life to our community. Condolences and thanxto the family. Thanx for the heads up scouter! |

Agreed, SJ. If we had a few less keyboard warriors and a few more Everett Sherrons around, this community would be a far better place.
