Ohio Challenge hot air balloon event organizers have announced a change in bluegrass bands. Sammy Adkins and the Sandy Hook Mountain Boys, featuring Danny Davis on Banjo will be the featured group on Sunday, August 3, at 2-4 pm.
Members of the band, all well known in the bluegrass music field, are:
Sammy Adkins on guitar and as lead singer and Junior Blankenship on lead guitar, both of whom played with the renowned Ralph Stanley Band; Carter Brickey on mandolin and fiddle who played with Dave Evans;
James Lowe on bass; and Danny Davis on banjo.
This will be the fifth show this group has performed since joining together. They are touring to such performance sites as Derby, Indiana, Aberdeen and West Liberty, Ohio and, after the Middletown show, will travel to North and South Carolina for several shows.
