I was viewing TV Middletown this evening, a recent concert was being telecasted.

It was quite strange seeing a man in a woman’s dress on stage with the band as the lead singer. It didn't take long to change the channel and reflect on our community and realize this entertainment was arranged by council membership and the leaders of Middletown. I have been to other events else ware and have never seen this approach. What is the deal ?

In reflection of the council meeting activity, meeting discussion content and community events of this nature, there is certainly a common theme in Middletown.

I would have to agree with this comment about the choice of entertainment. I think Middletown is a conservative community, and this belongs elsewhere. I think our community has gone downhill quite a bit over the years, including the way people are treated by the local police when they are arrested for even minor incidents. I witnessed an officer (female) not long ago in our neighborhood very early in the morning, on a traffic violation. She was very arrogant and rude with her comments, and did not speak to this person becoming of a police officer. I think that the community of Middletown needs to wake up, and start complaining more to our local government in order for changes to occur.

The Broad Street Bash is organized by the Broad Stree Bash committe of which there are no city council men or women involved. The event this year has grown into a successful campaign to bring people downtown as part of its revitalization and I applaud the efforts of all involved for providing a wonderful evening free of charge to anyone wishing to attend. I found the man dressed in a womens outfit odd but understood it for the gimmick it was not some social disorder that Middletonians need to be protected from. I am glad that the folks who feel this is inappropriate for the city are not on the Broad Street Bash committee or city council and recommened you just turn the channel.

It is interesting how individuals will transform the facts to support their position or statement. It is fact that council members are consulted. If you read the response, it is worded carefully, not surprising. Yes - they are not officially on the committee!

We need respectable activity in Middletown to grow the community.
