Several local arts centers are participating in the second annual Community Arts Center Day. Coordinated by the Cincinnati ArtsWave organization, Middletown, Fairfield, Oxford and other Greater Cincinnati art centers are going to focus on a parade theme. Last year Middletown's Community Arts Center Day brought about 120 people, this year they hope to draw more people to enjoy this fun-filled community event.
The Middletown Arts Center's (MAC) Community Arts Center Day is being held on Saturday, August 27th from 10AM - 4PM. To begin the eventful day, there will be art workshops for "Crazy Hats and Sunglasses". Around noon, the parade will begin its march starting at the MAC and moving along Broad Street to the Pendleton Art Center at Broad and Central Avenue. The parade will then travel back to the MAC for a FREE ice cream social provided by United Dairy Farmers. Hot Dogs, popcorn and various other foods will be offered as well.
During the afternoon, there will be face painting, sand art, artist demonstrations, mural painting and more. Additionally, work for Middletown Arts Center's new mural will be begin to replace the current mural which was created last year and is hung on the outside of the MAC.
All community members are encouraged to attend and enjoy the wholesome Community Arts Center Day in Middletown.
