The Middletown Board of Education is currently looking to fill the position of Alan Whitt, who resigned last month for personal reasons. At Monday night's meeting, the board formally accepted Whitt’s resignation.
Also at Monday’s meeting, Marcia Andrew was reelected board president and Chris Fiora was elected as vice president.
“I thank the board for the vote of confidence and I look forward to another year of progress for the school district and another year of working well together.”Andrew said.
Those who are interested in serving on the board must submit a letter of interest, including background information and qualifications, to board president Andrew by Tuesday, January 17. Applications can be emailed to Andrew at mandrew@middletown
cityschools.com or dropped off at the board office at 1515 Girard Ave.
The board will review the applicants and then appoint a fifth board member within the allotted 30-day time frame. The newly appointed individual will serve for two years and will need to seek re-election in November 2013.
