Middletown High School hosted a community forum to identify the characteristics the community wishes to see in a new football coach. According to Deidre Flagg, the forum’s independent facilitator, the forum and survey results revealed that “The community clearly wants someone who is a leader not only to the players but in the community.  They want a winning team, but they want a team of players who are making sound academic progress and are being prepared for their ‘after high school’ future.”

"We are extremely pleased to announce that Jason Krause has been offered the  Middletown High School Head Football Coaching position, pending board approval at Monday’s  Board meeting. His long-term commitment to youth and deep understanding of football will serve our program well,” said MHS Principal, Dennis Newell. “He has high expectations for all student athletes both academically and athletically,” he added.

Krause’s resume includes:

2000 – 2003, The University of Dayton, MS Educational Leadership, Dayton, Ohio

1990 – 1994, The University of Dayton, BS Elementary Education, Dayton, Ohio

                         Member of The University of Dayton Football Team – 1991

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2004 – Present Monroe Jr /Sr High School     Monroe, Ohio

Interim Athletic Director / Assistant Athletic Director; taught junior high school Math Lab and Language Arts; monitored Butler Tech On-line Lab, Safe and Drug Free School Coordinator.

2000 - 2004     Stebbins High School, Riverside, Ohio

High School Assistant Principal (Grades 9-12)

1994 - 2000     Lockland Middle School, Cincinnati, Ohio

Krause is thirty-six years old, married to wife Denise with four children: Haley - 12, Hunter -10, Hayden - 8, Henlie – 2.

According to Newell, Krause will be paid $60,825 to be an Intervention Specialist at Middletown High School, “which means that he will be working with students who need extra help in core courses,” Newell said. His coaching salary is $6,699 and he will receive $13,428 to coordinate the weight training program for all sports.
