The Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation has now changed its name to Atrium Medical Center Foundation. It is the fundraising affiliate of Atrium Medical Center. James B. Kleingers told the Middletown Journal in an interview that the new name clarifies that the foundation supports this region’s new destination for health care services. But the main focus remains the same which is to help ensure that the residents of southwest Ohio can receive the care they need close to home.
The foundation was established in 1984 and has raised millions to fund specialized services that meet serious health needs in our area. One of the more recent needs was the Advancing Care for a Healthier Community capital campaign netted more than $5.1 million from donors to fund the new Heart Center at Atrium Medical Center. This would bring heart surgery and spent placement close to home in Middletown.
There have been previous annual campaigns that have supported pediatric life support bags for life squads, women’s health, diabetes, trauma, kidney failure/dialysis and many more. Right now the Healthy Kids Campaign is raising funds to ensure that more low-income women and children are able to receive care at the hospital’s Maternal Child Health Care Center during challenging economic times.
