I like Paul Nenni, he has some taxpayer saving ideas that would revolutionize how the Butler County Commissioners would operate and be paid.

"The idea of electing department heads to serve as officers of the county was handed down to us from the state legislature over 200 years ago. We do not have fair representation. Nepotism and corruption are part of the status quo in Butler County. Only a county charter would give us the option of replacing our County Commission with a 12 member County Council elected from non-partisan districts throughout the county." Well....

Alvarez- got a feeling he would give an overabundance of attention to West Chester, some to Hamilton and absolutely none to Middletown. Doubt if he knows where Middletown is.

Carpenter- has given canned answers/comments heard from many politicians to get elected. Doesn't appear to offer anything enlightening to make her interesting and a serious candidate. Boring.

Jolivette- had his time in the sun. Now, needs to leave and sell hot dogs and root beer once again. Hiring the family was unacceptable. Haven't liked the man since he switched parties in the 80's just to win. No scruples.

Nenni- will give Middletown some representation, hopefully, if elected. Don't like what appears to be an uppity, snobbish attitude. Seems arrogant in his approach. Real turnoff with the demeanor.

Retherford- good down home ideas. New to the game. Don't know how effective he can be while trying to deal with the sharks in Hamilton. Can he stand his ground?

Von Stein- see Retherford.

Really no standout, strong-willed, get it done, make the necessary changes needed, stop the waste, decent demeanor people here with the total package. JMO

Mr. Beagle:
Doesn't it strike you as odd that Nenni's "ideas that would revolutionize how the Butler County Commissioners would operate" are exactly the opposite as those he strongly supported during his recent stint on the Middletown Charter Review Committee???

I have heard Retherford speak, and have had some short discussions with him.  He is NOT a "politician".  I believe that he will be a "citizen-legislator" type of commissioner.  I am leaniing his way.

Bill:
Nenni, like so many other candidates during this election cycle, is just trying to APPEAR to beconservative!!!  That's the savvy strategy this time around, and many candidates who have no core values will try to appear to be whatever they think it takes to get elected.

Look at the facts.  Nenni has been in favor of every tax ever proposed for the citizens of Middletown, as well as in favor of every spending spree, regardless of the value returned  or how deeply in debt it would put us.  He also insisted on a "personal representative" at certain meetings of city staff and always seemed to favor nepotism when it came to appointing members of boards, commissions, committees, and panels.

Those are hardly the traits of a true conservative.

I prefer Santa Claus , he deals directly and doesn't mince words, if your bad you get put on the list, he visits everyone at least once a year, and he only cost 5 cookies and a glass of milk. Now given the cost of milk and the fact that Santa is obese he could no doubt do without the milk, thus already cut the cost of his employment to only 5 cookies, and maybe a glass of water.

How would Santa deal with the issues ? No doubt the first issue would be deer hunting. An issue close to the heart of ole Santa.
No more democrats no more republicans, vote Constitution Party !!
