From the Journal...
Council tables canal project Members agreed to table the issue until their April 5 work session to hear comments from resident Gary Barge, who has researched and fought for changes along the canal for several years. Barge, along with City Manager Judy Gilleland and Public Works Director Dave Duritsch, was unable to attend the Tuesday meeting. How many times does Mr. Barge have to make the case and the presentation to council? How many water samples have to be pulled to see any action? How many councils do we have to go through to get something- anything done? How many times is council going to discuss this subject and run from solving the problem by "putting it back in the drawer"? It's gotten to the point where it is futile to revisit it as it has always been "tabled". Been just talk so far and public appeasement to show the public that it is being "talked about". Who is fooling who here, council? |
