Does anyone have any great family game stories? Our family likes to stay up late laughing and snacking...can get quite noisy around here!

Well, we do, but they may not be rated "PG"!

One of our favorite games (played by an adult group 2 or 3 times a month) is "Catch Phrase".  It is great fun, and in the heat of battle as time runs down, it leads to many slips of the tongue, bawdy charades and other side-splitting events that can't be re-told on this family venue.
“Mulligan said he ... doesn’t believe they necessarily make the return on investment necessary to keep funding them.” …The Middletown Journal, January 30, 2012

My wife and I are board game nuts. Our current collection is over 60, and grows often. Mike, you're right, Catch Phrase is a great game! We also like Guesstures, which is very similar to Catch Phrase but you act out silently instead of talking. They have come out with a new Guesstures, but we don't own it yet.

Other favorites of ours include Q90 (VERY HARD), card games (Euchre, Rummy, Spades, Hearts, Canasta, etc), and when young kids want to play we break our Quelf (It's a crazy game....).

I think families who spend time playing games and laughing together are much more involved in each other's lives and the children of those families grow up much.... how shall I put it.... "better". I think you all know what I'm getting at.

I agree they are board game nuts..lol. I don't play as mush as I should in fact it has been a while. But they do have some hard games, Q90 is ....well it's hard. I love the game A to z thats my favorite one, well outside of Scrabble (which I am a master at Big%20smile)

Adam...I know what you're getting at and I couldn't agree more! Our kids (mostly adults now) would rather stay home/be home with the "folks" and play games than most anything. Some we love: Party Play Off, WOW, Apples to Apples (make your own inside-joke cards) and Taboo to name a few. Thanks everyone for giving me some new ideas for Christmas gifts...
