Several years ago when Ohio finally passed a concealed carry license, there were several articles in the Middletown Urnial about how we would see "shootouts in the streets", "wild west shootouts" and my favorite, "people with automatic weapons on the street." Well 6 years have passed and I dont recall the Urnial ever reporting anything like that happening or saying they were wrong. Now it is passed that a CCW license holder does not have to lock the weapon in the unattended car when they want to go inside a resturant to eat dinner with the family. Personally I think the weapon is a lot safer on the hip of a license holder in a resturant than locked up in a car, But that was the law. The only thing the Urnial can print is crap like this above. Telling how bartenders are scared to death, A couple months ago there was a quote that one bartender was going to find a new job if the law went thru.
If you are carrying a weapon YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TOP CONSUME ALCOHOL PERIOD. They are breaking the law by drinking and carrying. Do you think that a person that has taken the time to go thru a 10 hour gun saftey class, Go to the local sherrifs office fill out the paperwork, get fingerprinted and picture taken, gone thru a background check (meaning they have NO domestic or criminal record). Then go thru a FBI background check when they purchase a firearm, Would actually risk all of that just to have a drink while carrying a weapon.
Wake up Middletown Urnial. Its time you realize that not every person that has a gun is a criminal. Approximately
11,300 license holders in Butler and Warren counties alone. You would be suprised how many times a person comes into contact with a CCW carrier and never knows it.

People need to wake up. It is not the person that goes thru the legal process to carry a gun that you have to worry about. It is the one carring the gun, because they feel they do not have to play by the rules. Those people have always been around and always will. According to the article the bartender was worried about what would happen if there was a barfight. Did you not have the fear of a knife or gun in a barfight before the change in the law? In case he did not know, criminals and trouble makers, tend not to abide by the law.
