More than 10% of the voting precincts have been realigned in Butler County to prepare for the coming November election. The city of Middletown is largely in Butler County. The changes result in the county now having 298 precincts, up from 297 previously.
The reason for the precinct realignment is to level out changes in population. Betty L. McGary, director of the Butler County Board of Elections says that the primary goal of the realignment is to prevent lines from forming in next year's presidential election.
