The failures of the May and August tax levies have caused serious reductions in programs and services. As a result, the Middletown City School District has implemented cost-saving measures. We have made reductions in classes, teachers, support staff, and extra curricular opportunities.
In addition, the following changes will also be implemented:
ü There will be no bus transportation for Middletown High School students.
ü Elementary and middle school students living within two miles of their school will no longer be eligible for bus transportation.
ü Transportation to/from day care centers will NOT be provided by the district.
The Vehicle Service Center is currently in the process of determining boundaries to define the two mile limit. Bus routes will be published at www.middletowncityschools.com and in the Middletown Journal. If you have questions about transportation, please call the Vehicle Service Center at 420-4568.
Student hours will be shortened for the 2007 - 2008 school year. Student hours will be:
ü Middletown High School:
7:30 A. M. - 1:30 P. M.
ü Verity and Vail Middle Schools:
