Statistics show that while the August 7th's school levy failed by a
narrow margin of just over 200 votes, two of the four wards in
Middletown voted to pass it.
The 2nd and 3rd wards favored the levy with positive votes of 52.4% and
52.9% respectively. The 3rd ward, which includes the Rosedale
community, showed 400 more voters turning out than were previously seen
in the May vote.
26% of registered voters voted on the May levy, while 29% voted on the
August. "Nearly all" of the additional votes in the August election
were in favor of the levy.
